The third Color Journal by Nina Bruun shines in metal shades

02.05.2018 17:00

Danish trend analyst Nina Bruun's monthly color collage is inspired by polished and reflective metals. The co-operation with the award-winning trend analyst enriches Tikkurila Group's pioneering role as a unique color expert. Her visual mood boards consist of interesting surfaces, completed with Tikkurila and Beckers color codes.

Color Journal No 3: Metal

"For this month’s color journal, it’s all about the metals. I’m a huge fan of the polished and reflective metals that have already been a trend for a while now. There’s just something soothing about the cold surfaces and how they always reflect light in so many different ways and I often use metals as a way to bring character into my interior to complement colors. Where the warm metals can bring a more feminine and warm expression, the cold metals in particularly contribute to a bit more raw atmosphere as they often have an industrial and masculine feel to it. I focused on the silver metals here, but there are so many beautiful ones and they can all represent a specific time capsule. Basically, metal it a very versatile material which is why I love to work with them as a part of any decor."
