Sustainable Beauty in Beijing, China

To bring comfort and joy to children living in the Sun Village in Beijing, Tikkurila in China participated in a redecoration project of the childre's village.

Tikkurila in China has participated in a redecoration project of Sun Village in Beijing. Sun Village is a Chinese non-governmental charity organization, which provides foster care and education for children of convicts. The organization has six children's villages in Beijing, Xi’an, Xinxiang (Henan Province), Long County (Shanxi Province), Jiujiang (Jiangxi Province) and Datong (Qinghai Province). Currently, the villages reside more that 400 children. Over the last 14 years, Sun Village has provided help and safety for more than 2,000 children.

To bring comfort and joy to children living in the village in Beijing, Tikkurila, in cooperation with Sun Village and its artist partner "Dexintang", invited local designers to redecorate the village with Tikkurila products. The colorful paintings and murals were designed and painted to the main building, hallways, children's room, auditorium, reception and wall of Sun Village.

The greyish wall of the village was given a bright new look.

Managing Director of Tikkurila China, Yan Ming, and Head of Sun Village, Zhang Shuqin, introduced the redecorated premises in Sun Village in Beijing on June 1, 2012 on Children's Day.
