Kemira acquires Tikkurila's shares

1984

Tikkurila acquires the British Donald Macpherson Group Plc, which has operations in eight countries

1990s

Expansion to Baltic countries, Russia and Eastern Europe
Worldwide expansion of Tikkurila's tinting technology

2000

Sale of tinting business to Industri Kapital

2001

Acquisition of  the Swedish decorative paints company Alcro-Beckers AB

2006

Acquisition of the Russian decorative paints company OOO Kraski Teks
Further expansion to CIS countries

2007

Tikkurila set up a sales company in China and expanded the industrial coatings operations in Russia.

2008

New paint production plant taken into use in Sweden. A Flagship Store acquired for Alcro in Stockholm. Sales companies set up in Romania, Belarus and Slovakia.

2009

Erkki Järvinen joins Tikkurila as the new President and CEO. A new Board of Directors is elected. Redefined strategy, new organizational and reporting structures are taken into use.
New logistics and service center starts operations in Moscow. New production lines for water-borne paints opened in St. Petersburg.
Tikkurila launches its new Avatint tinting system.

2010

Tikkurila is listed to NASDAQ OMX Helsinki Oy from March 26, 2010
